7 Reasons Why Heat Exchangers Fail
As an experienced technician, I always make sure I inspect the firebox or heat exchanger inside the furnace. The reason why every good technician does this is to make sure the furnace is safely operating to factory specs. The manufacturer would never send out a cracked heat exchanger, so we want to identify to homeowners when we see something like a cracked heat exchanger.

Переглядів 2,4 тис.Рік тому
Many homeowners find south facing rooms are hotter than others during the day. This is often due to the orientation of the walls. This can be a problem for bedrooms, which are located on the south side of the house, as pe...

Yeah that Tempastar you have as a "budget" unit is IDENTICAL, part number for part number, as an equivalent Carrier. There's no reason you work on them more than carrier unless people are smart and bought more of them for less money. Again, identical units.

Nice video doing a neat job adding the safety switch. Just out of curiosity though why do you prefer to brake the Red wire where it would kill both power to the fan and the thermostat versus the yellow that will only stop the condenser outside and of course it will stop producing condensation while at the same time will allow home owner to run the fan through the thermostat until the technician arrives for the service call. What am I missing in my thinking here?

I have an almost 16 year old Lennox G61V furnace. Some HVAC contractors are advising I replace it along with my new ac. It’s working fine. Are they just trying to scam me? Some people say I could get another 5 to 10 years with this furnace and the ones made today are not as good in terms of quality.

Hopefully you can get a trane variable or a carrier infinity variable. I’ve been inside homes with variable speed systems and the indoor air comfort is unreal because there are no hot or cold spots. You can crank those down to 68 degrees and still not break the bank with your energy bills.

For me it depends on the house. Some houses run at 78 during the day andn73 at night nicely while other homes I’ve lived in needs to be at 80 during day and 75 at night or else the ac won’t shut down and take breaks. I would say just keep adjusting until your ac runs efficiently. You don’t want it running none stop

We just had our furnace and AC replaced. Our home is just under 2300 SF, when he had the old system installed 17 years ago we had an 80K BTU furnace installed along with a 3 tonne AC. Both were way overpowered for our house and the existing size of duct. The last 6 years of the AC's life the coils would freeze, and the furnace blower started to sounds like a jet engine. Bigger isn't always better.
